Meet the Founding Board


David Zablatsky - Clerk, Director of Public Relations & Webmaster. He is a Dedham Resident. David served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard,(MA ARNG) leaving with the rank of Staff Sergeant. In the MA ARNG, He held various Leadership Roles & Specialized Positions, some of which were Medical Specialist, Supply Sergeant, Water Treatment Supervisor, Armorer as well as Physical Fitness, Team & Squad Leader, Acting Platoon Sergeant and Acting First Sergeant.  He is originally from Needham where he started playing Trumpet in the 4th Grade and all the way through Needham High School.  David during his 4 years at Needham High School, he was in the marching band, concert band, stage band , jazz emsemble, chorus and chorale as well as involved in many of their theatrical productions. He has been playing "Taps" in Needham since before graduated from Needham High School and continued coming back while in college up to and continuing since moving to Dedham. He has been requested to perform taps at various cemetaries, bench dedications and street dedications for fallen soldiers throughout Massachusetts for well over a Decade now. He marches in several parades a year and performs in many ceremonies in Needham and surrounding area.  He has played and was a member for 15 Years in the Waltham American Legion Band and served as Vice-President as well as being the Webmaster.  David also plays Drums and he is currenty a member of the Dedham American Legion, Post 18.

Jeanette Berger - President and she is a resident of Sudbury.  Jeanette was a 4-year member of the Mount Carmel High School (MCHS) Band in San Diego, CA, where she played in the parade, concert and field bands.  While in high school, she played mellophone with the 1986 DCI World Championship Finalist, Velvet Knights, and marched in the 1988 Rose Parade with the MCHS Band.  Since 1994, she has played euphonium, trumpet, trombone and horn while performing with numerous community bands and orchestras in Eastern MA, including the Southeastern Massachusetts Community Concert Band, Sharon Community Concert Band, Roy Scott Big Band, Southeastern Massachusetts Wind Symphony, Interboro Community Band, Fantasy Big Band, Metrowest Symphony Orchestra, Seven Hills Symphony, Shrewsbury Summer Concert Band, Framingham Blazers Summer Band, The Jazzabelles, Waltham Legion Band, and the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band. She is co-founder of the Blackstone Valley Brass, a mixed-brass quintet, and has served as Librarian and President of the Waltham Legion Band.  Jeanette is a current member of the Dedham American Legion, Post 18, Auxiliary. 

Richard "Dick" Goguen - Treasurer and  he resides in Holliston. He served in the Massachusetts Air National Guard, Rhode Island Army National Guard and United States Air Force Reserve.   His service included the 567th Air National Guard Band, 88th Army National Guard Band and Director of Personnel for the 102nd Fighter Interceptor Wing.  In the 567 ANG Band Dick served as 1st Sergeant, percussionist and drum major.  He also has been on the Board of Directors of the Waltham American Legion Band and has served as their Treasurer and Drum Major for over 10 years.  Richard played in the Gardner MA High School Band, Simplex Drum and Bugle Corps also of Gardner and the Fitchburg, MA Kingsmen Drum and Bugle Corps. He also was drum instructor for the Simplex Drum and Bugle Corps and the Leicester Girls Drum and Bugle Corps.  In addition to being on the current founding committee for the Dedham American Legion Band, Dick is currently playing percussion for the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band.
